Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage, Visits KGS.
On Tuesday 19th May, the KGS English Department were delighted to welcome Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage to our library to share a selection of his poems and take questions from our pupils. The event was enthralling, entertaining and enlightening for both pupils and staff alike. We are very grateful to Simon and his team for being willing to come to KGS during his ongoing tour of libraries across the UK. He read several poems from across his significant back catalogue, even treating us to a world premiere of a poem he composed while travelling to Orkney for his event at the Orkney Library that evening. Pupils and staff were truly wowed by such a prestigious visit and are looking forward to future opportunities to welcome more literary guests to our school.
