S1-S3 Broad General Physical Education

Picture
In S1-S3 we aim to build upon the fundamental skills pupils have acquired in Primary school level PE. The three year course is based around the concepts of breadth, depth and challenge to allow the pupils to gain experience in a wide range of different activities, while also experiencing challenge, competition and enjoyment.

Over the duration of the course pupils will undertake different sporting activities in the following areas:
  • Aesthetics
  • Aquatics
  • Athletics
  • Central Net and Wall Games
  • Dance
  • Fitness
  • Possession, Invasion and Target Games
  • Striking and Fielding

Picture
Pupils will be assessed on their progress and development through the Significant Aspect of Learning (SAL's). The their ability to learn key transferable skills in different sports and then their ability to take this information and apply it across a range of different activities within each specific area.
