Higher Business Management
Course Outline
Whether or not you intend to have a career in business, the course will enable you to enhance your individual effectiveness and understanding of business in contemporary society. It will explain why businesses make the decisions they do and how business affects each and every one of us. Learners will develop an awareness of ways in which society relies on business and other organisations to satisfy our needs, and an understanding of how to use business information to interpret and report on overall business performance in a range of contexts. Learners also gain knowledge and understanding of the main effects that external influences, such as economic impact and sustainability, have on organisations. |
The 3 units in the Higher course are:
Assessment A coursework assignment is undertaken in class time (8 hours; 25% of final grade). There is also a final exam (2 hours 45 minutes; 75% of final grade) which assesses decision making and the application of business knowledge and understanding. Homework There is weekly homework with the course of at least 2 hours a week. Homework activities may vary from listening to podcasts, written work, mindmaps, reading and internet research. Keeping up-to-date with current affairs will enhance business knowledge and make theory relevant. |
