In the Mathematics Department our aim is to develop pupil skills and confidence in our subject. Mathematics is a critical skill for life and its applications can be found in a variety of other subjects in the school curriculum. Mathematics can be a key subject requirement in many further education courses and career paths. 

In the Broad General Education phase, pupils will initially consolidate the work of primary school. They will then have the opportunity to work on numeracy, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and problem-solving skills.

In the senior phase, pupils of all abilities can be presented for awards at the level of National 2, 3, 4 or 5 Mathematics and National 5 Numeracy. Thereafter, pupils can study at Higher or Advanced Higher level.
