5th and 6th Year
All new and revised National Courses reflect Curriculum for Excellence values, purposes and principles. They offer flexibility, provide more time for learning, more focus on skills and applying learning, and scope for personalisation and choice.

In this Course, and its component Units, there is an emphasis on skills development and the application of those skills. Assessment approaches are proportionate, fit for purpose and promote best practice, enabling learners to achieve the highest standards they can.

The course uses the portfolio approach in assesment of the units, students find this engaging as they choose the context that is in thier interest, evidence for each outcome is achieved as they work through tasks and projects. This approach is empowering and pupils feel empowered to develop thier computing skills, knowledge and self confidence in the subject.
