Douglas is Tutor of the Year
We are delighted to be able to congratulate Douglas Montgomery following his award of "Music Tutor of the Year" at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards 2014!
A great multitude of young musicians in Orkney have benefited from Douglas' passion for music and the enjoyment and knowledge he has passed on to them. Well done. Douglas, you thoroughly deserve the praise and your moment in the limelight! |
Recent appointments
Mr Alasdair Harvey, formerly a Guidance PT, took up the role of Acting Depute Head Teacher at the start of this term. Since then Ms Bridget Taylor, teacher of English and Drama, has been appointed as Acting PT Guidance to replace him. Both have been involved in many aspects of school life during their time in KGS and will bring a wide variety of skills and experience to their new posts.

New term, new head
It's not his first day in the job - he's already been busy in the summer - but today is the first day Mr McDonald has welcomed pupils to KGS as Acting Head Teacher. While he is all too aware it will be hard work, he is looking forward to the challenges of the post and to taking KGS further along the road of improvement.
