Whilst the school is closed for the next 2 weeks, the staff will endeavour to respond to any emails up on our return. In the meantime though, we continue to update the support pages on our website so please be assured that there is help available if you or your child need it. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday 19th April, Miss Claire Meakin Covid Mitigations The government has updated their covid-mitigations guidance but, as it stands, they’ve retained wearing face coverings in corridors for pupils and staff after the Easter holiday. We will obviously update you if this changes! Reminder for 16+ pupils to register to vote A quick reminder to 16+ pupils to register to vote before 14th April if they have not done so already, Our CLD team will then be working with pupils post the holiday about the importance of voting. Exam leave for S4/5 and s6 pupils will begin on Monday 25th April. A small number of pupils who are sitting very few exams but will be returning to KGS next session will have arrangements put in place for them during part of study leave. If your child is not able to attend an exam, they should contact Mr Ewing [email protected] as soon as possible on the day of the exam Appeals Service If on results day a pupil feels their result is lower than expected, they may be able to appeal that result. Appeals can be prioritised if pupils have a conditional place at university or college. There is no charge for appeals. Eligibility criteria for Appeals 2022 are in place to support fairness and to ensure that learners are accessing the service on an equitable basis. Therefore, the following criteria must be met:

Pupils will be issued with personalised timetable in school before study leave begins Exam timetable and learner apps - SQA Results day This year's results day is Tuesday 9th August. Pupils can sign up to get their results by text and details are in the Your Exams link below Immersion timetable There will be a series of immersion events during study leave across the school to support pupils in the days leading up to the exams. The immersion timetable will be published on the school website after the holidays Studying in school during exam leave When a pupil has finished an exam they should leave school. S1 to S3 pupils are still working in classes so it is important that disruption is kept to a minimum. Pupils are welcome to study in school but only if they follow these guidelines
SQA Assemblies There will also be a series of Assemblies with senior pupils in school on Tuesday 19th April to go through key aspects of their SQA exams as well as hand out copies of an SQA booklet called Your exams. The booklet contains guidance on many aspects of the SQA exams including exceptional circumstances, appeals and items which should not be taken into the exam hall.
