Week Three

Dear Parents and Carers 

At the end of a busy but very positive week, we wanted to share a few quick reminders with you: 

Pupil Bulletins. Registration teachers work through these with their classes each morning, but if you or your child would like to revisit them, they are all accessible on the homepage of our website. http://www.kgsorkney.com/  

Sharing Good News. We are proud of all KGS pupils, and we love sharing good news stories with you.  Please keep following us on Facebook (including the 3 house pages) and Twitter to help celebrate our pupils’ remarkable achievements. Please also let us know about your child’s achievements outside of school - these stories are just as important to us! 

Covid Mitigations. We have been incredibly impressed with how responsible pupils have acted as we work to keep all pupils and staff as safe as possible whilst at school. If your child needs any more lateral flow tests, these can be collected from our reception. Thank you for your help and support with this. 

Key Dates. We will shortly be sharing with you reporting dates, along with dates for parents’ evenings. For today though, here is a reminder about our term dates along with the upcoming in-service (staff training) dates: 

• 7th and 8th October 2021     Staff In-service Days (Pupils not in school.) 
• 11th October 2021                    Start of October Holiday 
• 25th October 2021                  Start of Winter term 
• 22nd December 2021            Start of Christmas Holiday 
• 5th January 2022                  Start of Spring Term
